Excitement created with detailed playing. 'Sost.' shows sonorous lower band. (3)
+ 6 a little untidy moment. Generally tight ensemble with lower brass at (6)
impressive. Percussion excellent to (8). Rather above p in the 3/4. A lovely
relaxed cornet feature with delicate accomp. + contributions from other
soloists. Most of the difficulties are mastered and excellent tutti cornet work
to (10). Dynamics √ and tuba
soloists excels, even though the solo line could be a little more expressive. In
(13) I would prefer a little lighter feel; nevertheless a secure ensemble. In
the pesante section a good tutti feel (19) shows detail. Confident euphonium in
(22) and muted cts well tuned. Spacious style impresses. Only the occasional
blemish but euph is musical in his/her interpretation. In the lament thestyle is
fine, just could be better matched in Flugel sounds; but good playing. (25)
rhythmically accurate, and the excitement builds to the close. Much to admire
and thank you.
