The 1st Old Boys had a successful trip to Cambridge to play in The 2006 All England International Masters Competition at the Corn Exchange, playing Philip Wilby's Paganini Variations.  According to the adjudicators the band played well and gave a very musical show which was in marked contrast to the 4BARSREST live adjudication remarks ! The three distinguished men in the box were very complementary about the bands performance and didn't think the band struggled at all technically. The result shows the band is going from strength to strength, after becoming NI BBL Champions in Ballygowan they then secured a 15th place out of 21 bands, at the Masters, beating the Current Grand Shield Champions, Aveley & Newham and Runners up Carlton Main also beating the mighty Whitburn and GUS.
