The 1st Old Boys won the championship section of the Brass Band League Spring Festival, last Saturday 12th April, held in Glengormley High School. The adjudicator was David Horsfield.

The band gave an excellent performance of Dances and Arias by Edward Gregson. All the soloists played well with style. MD, Stephen Cairns also picked up the conductors trophy.

A special mention to Phil Ferguson who set down his cornet and jumped in on timps, for one rehearsal. On the day, he did a sterling job and along with Mike and Danny, they won the best percussion section prize.

The band has won the BBL Spring festival 15 times in total and 4 times since 2000 this was a great victory for the band and a great boost for Cambridge.
