Irish Champions again

1st Old Boys SeaCat Band go from strength to strength after gaining 1st place in the NIBA. The adjudicator Mr Goff Richards spoke afterwards of their "Blistering performance" of Passacaglia on a Theme of Brahms by Arthur Butterworth, as they were awarded the best performance of the day. 1st Old Boys also took the best instrumentalist prize, being awarded jointly to the Bb Basses.

This victory was under there new conductor Stephen Cairns whom was congratulated by the adjudicator to his control of the band and being a "very good conductor".

Defending their Irish Championship, 1st Old Boys have now secured a place in the European Championships.
